Country
    horizontal line

country road - several hundred clover buds - and one car.
closer up to the mulched but still bare stalks...clusters of bugs.
toddler looks at his - sunflower sprouts unfolding - he yawns.

redheads up - dropping the field guide - rat a tat tat.

snake slithers - across wet paper - my surprise.
even in this damp - a bee bush tantalizes - its intended guest.
climbing spider - motio9nless beneath my gaze - what does she know?
whitesun beats down - icicles melt into rust - battered tin roof.
gravely crunches - echo my steps on a path - to the tombstone.
