"Alia"
Spirit of the Blossoms - For the third year the Pear Blossom
Festival will be blessed by the weekend long appearance of "Alia" Spirit
of the Blossoms. Along with her entourage of musicians, criers, and footmen,
Alia will pass among festival participants handing out wooden festival
tokens each day. The tokens are purported to insure good luck for the coming
year. The Pear Blossom Myth, telling of Alia’s past, will be told in each
of the music areas and the children’s area both days of the festival.
