The Myth of the Pear Blossoms
"Alia Spirit of the Blossoms"
April 10th & April 11th, 1999
To celebrate Sena Foundation's Eleventh Annual Pear Blossom Festival, this much heralded event has changed venues.
Nestled twenty minutes south of Fredericksburg, 50 minutes north of Richmond and one hour and 15 minutes from Washington, D.C., the quaint and historic town of Bowling Green, VA has become the permanent home of the Pear Blossom Festival.
For the first time in the festival's history all of the weekend long events will be in one area.
The Town of Bowling Green has graciously invited the Pear Blossom Festival to block off Historic Main Street Bowling Green for the entire festival.
All the crafts and music, the children's area
and the food will be located directly on Main Street and the adjacent green
lawns that so much resemble the bowling greens of yesteryear.<top>
Fine Arts and Guilded Craft Exhibit and Sales -Nestled in the heart of the festival will be a separate section for fine arts and guilded crafts. There will be room for 50 fine artists and artisans.<top>
Area - Rides and Games and fun entertainment
all weekend long.
Wonderful kiddy rides, including a 65 foot dragon to crawl through, a climbing wall to test your skills and courage, face painting, and other exciting and splendiferous children’s activities will give children of all ages a place of their own for the weekend.
Their shouts of excitement and surprise will make
a joyful noise uniquely young and precious. <top>

The Pear Blossom Myth, telling of Alia’s past, will be told in each of the music areas and the children’s area both days of the festival.<top>
